Welcome to my Climb for a Cure for Cancer Fundraising Page

I am planning a trip for the thousands of us who lose our loved ones to cancer; for the thousands who battle through this disease on a daily basis; and for the hope that one day we might find a cure for this deadly illness.

Approximately 114,000 new cases of cancer were diagnosed in Australia last year alone. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Australia, with 1 in 2 people diagnosed with this disease by the time they reach 85.

In February 2012 I, along with a group of others, will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world.  For us, this will be a tough 6 days of trekking and ascending at high altitude. But every day is a tough journey for those who suffer from, or have a loved one who suffers from cancer. We are doing this trip with the aim of raising money for Cure Cancer Australia.

Cure Cancer Australia is a group of young innovative researchers seeking a cure for cancer.  Please check out their web site at www.cure.org.au.

In our lives, our greatest challenges and achievements are the barriers we break, the hurdles we jump and the mountains we climb!!!

In addition to taking donations, I hope to arrange fund raising activities, in the lead up to this challenge I have set myself and will update you once I have done so!
